Three Study Steps
You biblical research will cover many items before it is complete. The first step in choosing a good study bible is to get to know the originators. Can you trust their commentaries? Do you agree with them? What is their scholastic reputation? Getting these answers will require research on your part but it will also lay the foundation for your study. Secondly, read through some of the chapters. Did they provide enough in depth research to make your further reading worthwhile? And finally did the authors make it easy to use? A workable layout is important if you are going to use your reference everyday.
