How the Oscars affect the careers of Movie Stars
It is true that most movie stars became such huge names after they won an Oscar, although some of them are big names even without one – like Brad Pitt. In other cases though, the difference shows much when it comes to their bank account. Take the example of Halle Berry for instance, who earned 600.000$ for the Monster’s Ball, and after the Oscar her reward was 14million $ for Cabwoman. Dustin Hoffman earned 17000 for the Graduate, back in 1967, but in 1987 he got 5.8millions for the Rain man. Jack Nicholson is a striking example as well. Started with 12.500 for the On a Clear Day You Can See Forever (1970) but got almost $60 Million for Batman in 1989.
