Submerged Arc Welding

The arc for this type of welding is formed by the bare electrode and the surface of the base metal being worked upon. Submerged arc welding in many aspects is similar to MIG. It does not implement the use of protective gases. For protection, however, a kind of powder is placed on the surface of the base metal. Slag and gases whose main purpose is shielding the metal are produced as a result of the layer of flux that results from the current flow. Protective equipment, an SAW head, a flux handler and a power source form your welding kit.
