When I was in elementary school, I loved recess.  We had the typical jungle gym, monkey bars, and slide that most elementary schools have, but that’s not what I looked forward to.  My favorite recess activity was tetherball.  One of the older kids somehow managed to secure the ball to the flag pole out behind the gymnasium, and we’d break off into teams and hold tetherball tournaments.  I was pretty good at it, so everyone wanted to be on my team.  Who knew you could have so much fun with only a flag pole and a ball on a rope?  Sometimes the simple pleasures really are the best things in life.
