Gardening For Beginners: Get The Right Tools!
Gardening for beginners is not about getting as much tools as you can. All you really need is a shovel and a rake, I suppose. But there are so many tools and variation on tools, that it is a good idea to consider the tools we really need. For instance, shovels. What should you have for a shovel? Well you could have a shovel for every occasion, I suppose, but in reality you really just need a round-ended shovel for digging up this and that and a flat-bladed shovel (or spade) for edging beds and dividing plants.
A rake is also a basic requirement when it comes to gardening for beginners. There are two kinds you could have. There is the rake with the flat head and sharp metal prongs. This is used for smoothing a garden bed and getting out the last of the bumps and weeds. The other kind is a leaf rake. It is usually plastic and used to rake up leaves and grass clippings.
Hmm, I guess you need two shovels and two rakes. See how it goes. When you realize the ease of having the right tool for the right job, it is conducive to buying those right tools.
