The telephone rang. I answered it. My sister asked, what is a conventional home loan. She has been looking at houses, and she wanted to get pre-approval so she would know what pricee range to look limit her choices to. She found out that she qualified for a conventional home loan and also a few other types of loans. I explained that she would have to come up with a twenty percent down payment for a conventional home loan, but the other loans would probably require her to put down a lot less.
